Can you believe it has already been 2 years since legalization of cannabis in Canada? Let's just take a moment to say...."THANK GOODNESS"! Well...it is not to say that the system is perfect and there's definitely room for more improvements to our regulation (like...10 mg edible?), but seriously though, have you actually took a moment to think back about what procuring weed was like before it became legalized?
In 2010, Astrid and I were both living in Montreal and we met when the talk of cannabis legalization was still very subtle. We still loved to smoke weed and laugh/dance/watch HGTV/get our nails done. We were terrible at rolling joints, but we managed.
Things have definitely changed for the good, but us cannabis smokers out of the closet have quite a bit of catching up to do.
The process of buying weed was also pretty sketchy too. We sourced our weed from pretty unreliable dealers and finding our next source was always an issue. The quality was always variable and sometimes some of the side-effects were terrible. We had never heard of the distinctions between sativa and indica, nor did it matter because we never had a choice for different strains.
We have certainly come a long way since those days....Fast forward to today, we can shamelessly walk into government stores, welcomed by smiling budtenders ready to recommend the right weed for your need.
